10 Sylvester Stallone Movies You Should Watch

Stallone has been an actor for nearly 50 years, making him one of the most famous and beloved stars in the business. Stallone’s tough guy demeanor and superb acting skills have never failed to impress, whether he was playing Rocky Balboa in his breakout role in 1976’s Rocky or John Rambo in 2008’s Rambo. Here are 110 Sylvester Stallone Movies You Should Watch if you haven’t already.

1. Creed (2015)

This American sports story starring Sylvester Stallone and directed by Ryan Coogler is another great movie you should see. Fans loved Sylvester in the part of Rocky Balboa, which he played. Stallone won the National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actor, the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor, and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

2. Rocky (1976)

Rocky Balboa will always be Stallone’s signature role. Stallone penned the original film’s screenplay as a struggling actor. The script was great, but the studio wanted Robert Redford or James Caan to star. Stallone wouldn’t let them succeed without him in the lead. It was risky but paid off big. Oscar-winning Best Picture. A quasi-sequel where Rocky trains Apollo Creed’s grandson has been discussed, but it’s still being determined if it’s happening.

3. First Blood (1982)

First Blood was one of best hits of Sylvester Stallone movies. Our hero plays John Rambo, a disgruntled Vietnam veteran who fights a Washington state sheriff and the entire police force. They fucked the wrong guy. Even though the series became more cartoonish over time, it allowed Stallone to act. He’s writing the fifth chapter. It’ll be released when he’s 70.

4. Cop Land (1997)

In the mid-1990s, Stallone’s career stalled. The Specialist, Judge Dredd, Assassins, and Daylight were all flops, and studios stopped funding his big-budget action films. Instead of fighting gravity, he played a corrupt New Jersey sheriff alongside Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, and Harvey Keitel. For the film, Stallone gained weight and demonstrated he could do more than flex his biceps and blast bad dudes with a bazooka. Over the next few years, his career would sink deeper into oblivion, but Cop Land remains one of his best movies from the low point of his post-fame career.

5. Nighthawks (1981)

Between Rocky II and Rocky III, Sylvester Stallone played a top New York City police officer who had to fight a foreign terrorist who came to the city to do bad things. His partner is Billy Dee Williams, who finished making Empire Strikes Back. If you leave out some parts of Rocky IV, this is Stallone’s best movie, where he has a beard.

6. Demolition Man (1993)

Demolition Man’s 2032 is weird. It’s a period where Arnold Schwarzenegger is president, radio stations play only old TV commercial jingles, swearing is prohibited, poor people live underground and eat rat cheeseburgers, and almost all crime has been eliminated. Until Wesley Snipes’ blond supercriminal is unfrozen, he unleashes a catastrophic crime wave on the city, and Stallone’s 20th-century cop is unfrozen to fight him. Though absurd, it made $160 million.

7. Cliffhanger (1993)

Cliffhanger’s 1993 release marked the end of Sylvester Stallone’s reign as Hollywood’s most bankable star. A mountain climber is disturbed by his friend’s death. He climbs the same mountain to rescue a stranded group and finds himself desperately pursuing $100 million lost in a failed theft. He fights a tough John Lithgow near the conclusion. It made $255 million, but these flicks were expiring.

8. The Suicide Squad (2021)

The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn, is a comeback after 2016’s misfire. The titular squad is led by a league of authorities on a search-and-destroy mission. One mistake, and they’re dead. Stallone is King Shark, a CGI shark. Stallone’s comic side shines with Gunn. Sylvester Stallone movies have numerous amusing moments in writing, and despite being CG, his character is still lovable and easy to empathize with.

9. Death Race 2000 (1975)

Death Race 2000 is a thrilling satire. It’s 2000. America is near collapse. In the Transcontinental Road Race, teams score by finishing quickly and running over pedestrians. Stallone plays “Machine Gun” Joe Viterbo, a ruthless competitor. The straight-faced performances sharpen the satire. The film has been controversial due to its mindlessness and extreme violence. This is best for fans who wish to relax for a few hours.

10. Oscar (1991)

“Oscar” was based on a French play made into a French movie in 1967, which doesn’t exactly scream a “Sylvester Stallone” remake possibility. But “Animal House” director John Landis kept his promise and made this screwball comedy. In it, Sylvester Stallone plays “Snaps” Provolone, a flashy gangster who promises his dying father (Kirk Douglas) that he will go straight. However, his daughter Lisa (Marisa Tomei), who is pregnant and doesn’t know the father, makes it hard for him to do that. Follow M4ufree movies now!
